Belts – crochet and macramé

Four handmade belts, each with a different character:Raspberry Viive,Autumn Signe,Mist HelmiandPearl Liisa. These are stories born from the cooperation of thread, knot and imagination. Every belt has its own character and its own season. Some were born in summer light, others in crisp autumn air.

Between the hand and the soul of handicraft

There is something very human about crocheted belts: repeating patterns born from the rhythm of fingers and moments of silence. A machine can make hundreds of stitches in a minute; a maker works according to thought and mood. The tension of every thread is slightly different, and that is precisely what gives the piece life. A belt is not merely useful, but a small piece of character. It frames an outfit, adds confidence and reminds us that beauty does not have to shout to be noticed.

Raspberry Viiveis cheerful and berry-bright, a little capricious but always sociable.Autumn Signe is more reserved. Her colours are like the gold of ripe grain and the blue of a deep autumn sky.Mist Helmiis delicate as morning mist, yet strong in her simplicity.Pearl Liisa combines the precision of knots with the glimmer of tiny pearls. She is both classic and modern. All these belts are born in a small workshop where every thread turns through the fingers until the pattern begins to tell its own story.

Materials and care

The belts are made from cotton and polyester yarns. Cotton provides strength and a matt surface, while polyester adds durability and shine. If cared for properly, not left damp and not overstretched, they will last for years. Gentle hand washing and drying flat is enough for cleaning. Macramé belts can, if necessary, be ironed on low heat through a cotton cloth so the fringe stays smooth and soft. They are small but lasting things, like good friends who ask for little yet bring joy whenever you wear them.

Real photographs of the belts

Maimu and Bim tangled up among the belts

Maimu:“See, I told you. If the fringe is long, the cat will find his way into it and end up in a tangle!”

Bim:“Meow! The white macramé suits me best… all right, all right, I’m coming out of the tangle.”

These belts are in the shop.

This is how I knot them in macramé.
