When my hands fell silent

Almost, or perhaps more than, a year ago something in me simply clicked and I stopped doing handicraft. Nothing at all.

It happened after the 2023 Kaja Christmas fair. It was probably my first and last time selling at a fair. I made a loss of €25. That was exactly what the stall fee cost.

A lot of the things I had made I simply gave away. I did get some money for a few. At least it solved the problem of presents. Handmade things are always lovely to receive as gifts, but to buy them? Apparently that is too expensive. Cheap Chinese tat is better. Never mind that it wears out or breaks quickly, at least you have it for a moment. People do not know how to value handicraft; they want it for practically nothing. But enough of that. In any case, that put a full stop to my making things.
