Hõbekaste ja Leheudu – Silver Dew and Leaf Mist: Two Collars, One Soul

It is morning. Quiet, mist rising over the meadow and the sun only beginning its first warm stretch. That kind of moment is exactly where my collars got their names:Silver DewandLittle Leaf Mist. Two completely different handmade pieces with the same soul, born in moments when there was more silence than words and the yarn listened quietly to me.

These collars are more than decoration. They were made to tell a story, a story of women who know how to value simplicity and beauty in small things. As the yarn winds between my fingers and the pattern begins to take shape, every stitch feels like a small breath. I am not thinking about the final result then, but about the way each repeat and arch finds its own rhythm, like a song you have heard before yet still discover a new note in.

Silver Dewwas born first. The idea came early one morning when dew sparkled on the grass outside the window and the room still smelled of freshly brewed coffee. I wound the yarn into a ball and simply began experimenting, following feeling rather than a pattern. When the first flower-shaped lace motif was complete, I knew it would become something special. The collar was light, almost transparent, yet clearly defined, like a morning that has not decided whether to remain misty or become bright.

Leaf Mistcame later and was calmer. Where Silver Dew is delicate and playful, Leaf Mist is balanced, like a warm summer evening when everything is done and you can simply be. The pattern is inspired by leaves, with small waves along the edge reminiscent of foliage moving in the wind. I wanted this collar to suit a woman who loves simple beauty, not excessive sparkle, but clarity and peace.

Sometimes it seems to me that every handmade thing I create begins to speak for itself. So it is with these two collars. They speak to one another. One day when I laid them side by side, they seemed like siblings: different, but sharing the same warmth. One brings sparkle, the other calm, and both are needed to keep the world in balance.

Handicraft is not only about yarn, pattern or chart. The real magic is that every piece is born through someone’s hands and soul. When someone puts this collar around her neck, she carries not only lace and thread but the feeling crocheted into it: peace, concentration and quiet joy.

If Silver Dew and Leaf Mist speak to you, know that they are in the shop too, but before that they live in my heart. Everything else, dimensions, price and details, can stay where it belongs:

Here in my little craft corner, what matters more is that every piece begins with silence, one ball of yarn and a large heart.

💭 “Every knot counts,” says Maimu. “And when the heart is calm, the collar finds its way to you by itself.”
