Another happy moment has been born in my tiny handicraft room:
a shimmering grey crocheted tablecloth, 98 cm in diameter, has found a new home.
Made from metallic cotton yarn, it carries a delicate shimmer and a soft texture, the same quiet and calm in which the stitches themselves are born.
A moment like this means more than simply confirming an order.
It means a handmade piece gains a life and a story, quietly told by every stitch.
The tablecloth that began in my workroom is now travelling onwards, to someone else’s home and someone else’s table,
to bring a little calm, beauty and warmth with it.
‘The tablecloth in a summer setting – handicraft and nature in one moment.’
🐱 Bim – king of the worktables and a soft-pawed critic
Everyone who sees my handicrafts should know that
Bim is present for every tablecloth as it takes shape.
His purr sets the rhythm of my work.
He sits exactly where the pattern is being made and watches to make sure the stitches are flowing properly.
When Bim’s seal of approval appears at the edge of a tablecloth, perhaps in the form of a peaceful nap, I know the work has earned its ‘cat certificate’.
And if he tangles all the balls of yarn, it simply means, ‘Let’s start again!’
That is how these pieces are made, with a little cat, a little patience and a great deal of love.
🧸 Maimu – the quiet that holds the pattern together
While Bim purrs and moves about,
Maimu simply watches.
She is the
mascot of my handicraft room, a little angel on the shelf calmly watching over the birth of every new piece.
Her gaze says more than a thousand words:
‘Every stitch counts.’
And that quiet is exactly what holds the pattern together when my mind wants to rush ahead.
🌍 Handicrafts travelling from heart to heart
Although at the moment I have only
12 saleson Etsy, they have been special.
My handmade pieces have found homes in
Spain, Mexico, France, Germany, Australia and the United States.
Every order is like a small meeting of cultures. A tablecloth crocheted at home to the sound of Bim’s purr and Maimu’s quiet presence has become part of someone else’s world.
💬 Words that feed creativity
‘Marvellous, unique and special’ – Sandrine
‘A great artist!’ – Eva
Those words are more than compliments. They are confirmation that the handmade piece lives on.
Where words end, feeling begins.
The value of handicraft is not measured in money, or even in time,
but in that quiet moment when someone looks at it and says:
‘This is special.’
