A little bird told me that my niece gets rather cold while working with the horses at the stable and could use a cardigan. The bird chirped today and about a week and a half later she had it. But to keep her legs warm too, I made warm knee-high socks in the same style. The yarns differ in thickness and just about everything else, and they were a real nuisance to knit. I did not want to use up all the cardigan yarn because I heard the collar ought to be high, and if I happen to visit them I will make it higher. That is why the yarns are different colours and behave differently. The white is quite fine and very stretchy. And the blue, well, one ball ran out and I had nothing similar left. The lower part of the second sock is therefore made from another yarn. The shade is more or less the same and if you do not know, perhaps you would not notice the difference, though it is finer too. I suspect the horses could not care less what the socks look like. The important thing is that the wearer has a warm back and warm shins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
