Naturally I checked the width. The length&#8230; well, \u201cit\u2019ll be fine\u201d. Spoiler: it was not. The wall is five metres wide. The window is four metres. I bought four metres of curtain and thought everything was fine. Because obviously it is perfectly normal to hang a<strong>straight curtain<\/strong>in front of a five-metre wall. Very aesthetic. Very logical. \ud83d\ude43 I got the height just as spectacularly wrong. The room is 2.5 m high, so I thought I would buy the same length. Except the curtain pole is not on the ceiling. Nor are the hooks invisible. The result? The curtain dragged along the floor like an offended princess. I also have that \u201clovely\u201d French balcony&#8230; I did not put a curtain in front of that door. It simply does not reach. I hung something I made instead, either a mandala or a dreamcatcher, you decide. I made it for Christmas, with snowflakes. &#8230;Or wait, are they actually snowflakes? Perhaps they are just little stars and my brain decided \u201cChristmas = snow\u201d. So now there is a seasonally confused work of art on my door. At first I judged the height by eye&#8230; and when I measured it afterwards, that was 50 cm too. \ud83d\udc49 Slightly alarming how accurate my eye actually is. Then came the moment when my brain briefly went on strike. Measuring the height is incredibly tedious. I sat there thinking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cfor fuck\u2019s sake&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then \u2013<em>click<\/em>\ud83d\udca1 I have a radiator. I can measure down from the top edge of the radiator. The curtain is hanging anyway and the curtain pole is straight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udc49 Life became easier in a second. At that moment I decided I deserved a medal. Seriously. Not for buying anything correctly, because I did not, but because<strong>I did not immediately start cutting<\/strong>and actually used my brain. AI has already promised me a digital medal. Some teach you to measure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bim:<\/strong>\u201cAnd some teach you NOT to buy blindly from Temu.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Maimu:<\/strong>\u201cSilence holds the pattern together&#8230; even in curtains.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The final result? The curtains were fixed. My mood improved.
