Some pieces are born quickly, others take time. Just like people, every doily has its own character and soul. These three lace table decorations came from different moments, but all carried the same thread: a calm rhythm brought to life by the dance of a crochet hook.

Morning Breath –white, abundant lace, made to order

Dance of Shadows – a lace adventure on the border between light and shade. A commission from Australia, so this one went on a very long journey ✈️
See how the lace comes alive in the light. Every stitch tells its own story.
And the undercloth
My view was, and still is, that the black NIGHT LIGHT tablecloth needs an undercloth. Light, but not white. I headed for Abakhan. Nothing there. I did not even know what material it ought to be. So I went to Kanga Džungel. They had an outlet sale, everything 80% off. I bought curtain fabric. I did not want a seam anywhere, and this was 2.85 metres wide.

Naturally I had to wipe the dust off the sewing machine and become friends with it again. It does not think much of me and constantly snaps the thread. Anyway, I put it on the table, cleaned it, spoke nicely to it and threatened it a little too: if it started that nonsense again, I would send it to the tip….

I am pleased with my work. I like it, and that is what matters.

If you dream of an unusual tablecloth that cannot be found anywhere else, write to me. They can be made in any colour and size. Every cloth is made slowly, by hand and from the heart. One usually takes about three weeks to make. This is handicraft, not a production line.
